September 24, 2023

Sometimes, you might find yourself needing to connect your Apple AirPods to a Lenovo laptop. Perhaps you’re working from home, or maybe you just want to enjoy your favorite tunes on a larger device. Regardless of the reason, the process can seem a bit confusing, especially if you’re not familiar with the technicalities. Not to worry though! This guide is designed to take you through the steps in a simple and understandable manner.

What You’ll Need:

  1. Apple AirPods or AirPods Pro: The star of the show! Ensure they’re charged and within a reasonable distance (about 10 meters or 30 feet) from your laptop.
  2. A Lenovo Laptop with Bluetooth Functionality: Most Lenovo laptops made in recent years have this feature built-in.

The Step-by-Step Process:

Step 1: Wake up the Bluetooth on your Lenovo laptop

It’s easier than it sounds:

  1. Click the “Start” menu, the Windows icon at the lower left corner of your screen.
  2. Locate “Settings” (the gear icon) and click on it.
  3. In the settings window, find and click on “Devices”.
  4. Look for “Bluetooth & other devices” on the left side and click on it.
  5. If Bluetooth is off, turn it on.

Step 2: Get your AirPods ready for a new connection

Here’s how:

  1. Pop your AirPods into the charging case and leave the lid open.
  2. Press and hold the button on the back of the case until the LED light on the front begins to blink white. This means your AirPods are ready to connect with a new device.

Step 3: Introduce your AirPods to your Lenovo laptop

Once you’ve got Bluetooth on and your AirPods ready, it’s time to make the connection:

  1. On your laptop, in the “Bluetooth & other devices” window, click “+ Add Bluetooth or other device”.
  2. Choose “Bluetooth” in the next window that appears.
  3. Your laptop will start looking for Bluetooth devices in the vicinity. As soon as your AirPods pop up on the list, click on them.
  4. If a prompt appears asking for a passkey or to confirm a passkey, just click “Connect” without typing anything.
  5. When the connection is successful, your AirPods will show up in the “Audio” section of the “Bluetooth & other devices” window on your laptop.

And voila! Your AirPods are now connected to your Lenovo laptop. To disconnect them, you can turn off Bluetooth on your laptop, shut the lid of your AirPods case, or select your AirPods in the “Bluetooth & other devices” window and click “Remove device”.

Once your AirPods are paired with your laptop, they should automatically connect whenever they’re in range, Bluetooth is enabled, and they’re out of their case.
